The Institute for Cultural Diplomacy is currently accepting applications for
the forthcoming conference “The Berlin International Human Rights Congress:
Human Rights and Democracy in a Globalized World – Moving Towards an
International Consensus?” (Berlin, 1st – 4th October 2010).
The conference is being held in cooperation with Amnesty International
Germany, Dubrovnik International University, and the Atlantic Club of
Bulgaria. The four day program will include lectures and panel discussions
featuring experts from international politics and diplomacy, academia, and
civil society. These components will explore salient issues in the field of
human rights, the relationship between human rights and democracy, and the
key challenges that lie ahead in these fields.

Dr. Anne V. Adams (Director, WEB Du Bois Memorial Centre for Pan-African
Culture, Ghana)
Dr. Alan Berman (Senior Lecturer in Law, Newcastle University, Australia)
