European Commission  and Social Platform are organizing a hearing on migration and asylum that will take place on 3 December in Brussels:

In the context of the on-going reflection on the challenges and future priorities for the Home Affairs policies, after the Stockholm Programme will come to an end in 2014, DG Home Affairs, together with the Social Platform is organizing a Hearing on the future of migration and asylum in Europe.

The Hearing will take place on December 03, 2013, from 09.00 – 15.30 at the Renaissance Hotel, Rue du Parnasse 19, Brussels.

The event will bring together relevant stakeholders for a consultation on the challenges and opportunities for migration and asylum in Europe. The conclusions of the hearing will feed into the European Commission’s Communication on a new agenda for Home Affairs to be presented in March 2014. Should you be interested in contributing to this process, you may find detailed information on the event, the programme and the registration (including cost coverage possibilities) on line:

Additionally, we would like to repeat our call for contribution to the following consultation: Debate on the future of Home Affairs policies: An open and safe Europe – what next?

    Deadline: 12 January 2014

The Stockholm Programme, which framed Home Affairs policies in the years 2010 to 2014, will soon come to an end. It is time to consider the future challenges and priorities. The Commission has initiated a reflection process and invites you to join this debate. Should you wish to contribute you may find more information at:
